July 20, 2008 - Siemens Healthcare highlighted its smallest ultrasound solution, the ACUSON P10 ultrasound system, designed for fast and accurate screening and triage decisions at the point of care, at the Firehouse Expo 2008, a conference for fire and emergency professionals, to be held in Baltimore, July 22-24.
The ACUSON P10 handheld diagnostic ultrasound system is a little larger than a common PDA, weighs only 1.6 pounds, and fits into the emergency bag of emergency personnel.
The ACUSON P10 system can be used by physicians and medical personnel in multiple environments, including ambulances and medevac helicopters. Emergency exams, such as FAST (Focused Assessment with Sonography for Trauma), enable medical personnel to detect free fluid in and around the heart, lungs and abdomen, determine cardiac activity and perform pelvic exams.
