May 29, 2008 – Aurora Imaging Technology Inc. installed its Aurora 1.5Tesla Dedicated Breast MRI System at the Comprehensive Breast Center of The Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center in Amarillo, TX.
The Aurora System is the only FDA cleared dedicated breast MRI system specifically designed for the detection, diagnosis and treatment monitoring of breast disease, said the company.
“We have been performing breast MRI for approximately three years using a whole body system, and although we were obtaining good images, we wanted a state-of-the-art system that was dedicated to the breast,” said Gary Aragon, M.D., breast diagnostic specialist. “The Aurora System offers phenomenal detail and spatial resolution, superior to what we had before.”
