April 23, 2008 – FUJIFILM honored the recipients of its American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) educational grants during a presentation held at the Scholars and Awards session at the 108th annual meeting in Washington, D.C., awarding the winners with $2,500 each to cover registration and courses for the entire ARRS meeting, as well as lodging and travel to and from the conference.

Elizabeth K. Arleo, M.D., of New York Presbyterian Hospital and Roland Talanow, M.D., Ph.D., of The Cleveland Clinic were selected by an ARRS physician panel based on their outstanding CVs and essays describing what they hope to learn from their experience at the ARRS annual meeting. Dr. Arleo, who is preparing for a career in academic radiology, was particularly excited about attending the sessions and gaining a broader exposure to the latest research in her chosen field of study. Dr. Talanow was looking forward to presenting several educational exhibits, which allowed him the opportunity to showcase what he can contribute to the radiology community.

The week-long meeting covered over 75 specialty-focused instructional courses, 29 scientific sessions featuring the latest research, a categorical course on state-of-the-art emergency and trauma radiology, half-day courses on breast MR, cardiac CTA, ultrasound, business and education, a scientific exhibit hall with more than 300 electronic exhibits and a commercial exhibit hall with more than 50 vendors.
