February 13, 2008 – Carestream Health Inc. recently signed eight contracts for the Kodak Point-of-Care CR-ITX 560 computed radiography platform, providing healthcare facilities with an integrated CR reader/X-ray generator that provides immediate capture and access to medical images.
The system has applications including bedside exams, emergency rooms, trauma units, intensive care facilities and nursing homes.
The CR-ITX 560 can perform diagnostic X-ray imaging at the patient’s bedside in a number of settings, including intensive care units, clinics, nursing homes and hospitals of all sizes. The unit combines a tabletop Kodak CR system and imaging processing software with a Siemens portable X-ray system.
The system has hospital information system/radiology information system (HIS/RIS) compatibility so worklists containing patient identification and image study requests can be downloaded. It also supports DICOM Store and DICOM Print capabilities and uses a standard network outlet for communication. In addition, the system can operate over a wireless network connection through its laptop’s WiFi adapter.
The follow facilities ordered the CR-ITX 560: Henry Medical Center (Stockbridge, Ga.), Northwest Hospital (Seattle, WA), Pagosa Mountain Hospital (Pagosa Springs, CO), Phelps Memorial Hospital (Tarrytown, NY), Swedish Medical Center (Seattle, WA), The Medical Center Inc. (Columbus, GA), Valley Medical Center (Renton, WA), Virginia Mason Medical Center (Seattle, WA).
