December 4, 2007 – TeraRecon demonstrated at RSNA its AquariusNET, an advanced visualization solution designed to meet the needs of the new 256- and 320-slice scanners released at the show.
The AquariusNET server is a 3D enterprise server/thin-client solution that maximizes the utility of MDCT, MR, and other medical imaging data throughout an enterprise. The server delivers real-time interactive 3D imaging to networked PCs running the AquariusNET thin-client application. Because there are no license fees for the deployment of the thin-client application and it runs on any PC open desktop, it can be applied to PACS diagnostic review stations HIS, RIS and other informatic systems without the need for hardware upgrades or the need to move large 3D datasets across existing networks. All clinical applications, full functionality, and all 3D tools are available on all server models.
The company also showcased the new Aquarius iNtuition client that delivers workstation-class applications to regular PCs or PACS stations throughout the department and enterprise. This feature is said to blur the line between advanced 3D workstations and thin-client 3D. Aquarius iNtuition reportedly offers one seamless solution for advanced image management needs.
The iNtuition workflow mantra is “Automate, Validate and Read.” The AquariusAPS server provides real-time automatic pre-processing to perform routine tasks and prepare the case for human interaction. During the validation step, a technologist or physician reviews the work done so far to validate its accuracy. This leads to optimal interpretation with the minimum time requirement from a busy physician.
