December 1, 2007 — iCAD Inc. and GE Healthcare will develop a customized version of iCAD’s SecondLook Digital, a computer-aided detection (CAD) solution for mammography, specific to GE’s Senographe and Seno Advantage systems designed to enhance the overall clinical performance with Senographe and Seno Advantage systems.
The new version of SecondLook is intended to specifically improve sensitivity to breast cancer imaging, enhancing usability and workflow as well as providing diagnostic support tools.
ICAD’s currently available revision of SecondLook Digital already works well with GE's complete line of Senographe FFDM systems and Seno Advantage Review Work Stations, according to a spokesperson from GE Healthcare, and will continue to be a key aspect to the company’s platform.
SecondLook Digital offers radiologists CAD technology that is designed to distinguish cancers from other anomalies in the breast. SecondLook Digital reportedly detects up to 72 percent of actionable missed cancers an average of 15 months earlier and integrates seamlessly with DICOM systems.
