November 20, 2007 - VIDAR Systems Corp. will unveil upgrades to its DosimetryPRO Advantage film digitizer and highlight its market-leading CAD PRO Advantage digitizer for mammography at the 2007 Radiological Society of North America meeting.
VIDAR's DosimetryPRO Advantage now features a red LED (light-emitting diode) version for use with International Specialty Products’ GAFCHROMIC EBT film. Other upgrades to the DosimetryPRO include USB connectivity, RoHS compliance to meet new European Union standards for lead-free electronics, and a new removable LED lighting system that replaces the previous fluorescent lamp design and offers significantly longer lamp life. The DosimetryPRO with red LED will be released in early 2008.
In addition, VIDAR's CAD PRO Advantage will be on display. Conference attendees can view the digitizer running with VIDAR's ClinicalExpress software and evaluate image quality on an approved mammography reading workstation.
The company also will be distributing a white paper, “Realizing the Benefits of Full-Field Digital Mammography--The Role of the Film Digitizer,” which provides a comprehensive review of important technology and workflow considerations for mammography departments and imaging centers considering the transition to digital mammography.
