GE will bring to RSNA its Innova 4100 flat panel digital detector that reportedly offers the industry’s largest field of view for vascular and interventional imaging, delivering 40 percent more area than conventional 15.5-inch round intensifiers. The system will reportedly provide a larger view of anatomy in a single run with a single contrast injection to reduce contrast and radiation dose without sacrificing image clarity.
GE will also feature its LightSpeed VCT XT configuration, SnapShot Pulse that works through a process called prospective triggered gating, turning CT X-ray on and off at desired times during a patient’s heart rate cycle. Since SnapShot Pulse software only keeps the X-rays active for key portions of a scan, it is reportedly able to reduce a patient’s exposure time by up to 70 percent over conventional helical scans.
