October 4, 2007 – Aloka recently announced that the company will unveil three new models of its ProSound Systems, the ProSound alpha 7, the ProSound 3500SX and the ProSound 6, aiming to provide versatile and high performance ultrasound systems in a very compact design, at the 17th World Congress on Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology, Oct. 7 to Oct. 11, in Florence, Italy.

Some of the ProSound alpha 7 features include the Directional eFLOW which visualizes blood flow dynamics from low to high velocity flow reportedly without overlapping and with a high degree of accuracy. Also included are basic imaging performance enhancements with Broadband Harmonics, ExPHD (Extended Pure Harmonic Detection) and high temporal resolution to aid in the diagnoses of fetal heart conditions.

The ProSound 3500SX reportedly offers significant enhancements to the ProSound 3500, including ergonomic enhancements and a flat panel display (FPD). Real-time 3D(4D) is available as an option and the company is preparing several major updates in the coming months.

The ProSound 6 is a gray scale compact ultrasound system that includes ProSound technologies such as ExPHD, MFI-Multifrequency Imaging, edge enhancement functions. A variety of transducers are available to cover a wide range of clinical applications and the system offers high resolution imaging on each transducer.
