August 23, 2007 - B-K Medical Systems Inc., a wholly owned subsidiary of Analogic Corp. and the New York Section of the American Urology Association (AUA,) have joined together to create the AUA Resident Ultrasound Course, reportedly a first-of-its-kind training program for urology residents that will be held in New York, NY, Friday, Aug, 24, and Saturday, Aug. 25, 2007, at the New York Academy of Medicine.
"This course is designed to acquaint resident urologists with the advantages and limitations of ultrasound as an Imaging modality for urologic diseases. Increasing the residents' familiarity with this technology will benefit patients by enabling their physicians to use a diagnostic technique that limits the patient's exposure to radiation, is readily accessible in most offices, and is cost effective," explained Dr. Pat F. Fulgham, M.D., chairman, AUA National Urologic Ultrasound Faculty; and a practicing urologist in Dallas, Texas.
Courses will be held in other cities later this year.
