TeraMedica Healthcare Technology announced today that the University of California-Davis Cancer Center in Sacramento installed its Evercore Oncology Information Manager integrated with IMPAC Medical Systems’ MOSAIQ image-enabled, oncology specific, electronic medical record (EMR) in its central hospital’s radiation therapy clinics and satellite facilities, resolving the University’s data storage and transfer problems.
Evercore is an oncology information manager that integrates and manages reportedly all radiation therapy DICOM objects and other associated Non-DICOM Clinical Content, such as that involved in treatment planning systems. The adoption of Evercore is designed to help UC-Davis interface disparate information systems from a range of equipment with different operating systems, and it will be used as the department’s central DICOM data repository and RT-image management system.
“We have many disparate systems in our radiation therapy department and they each interpret DICOM and Non-DICOM information differently,” said Dr. James Purdy, Director of Radiation Oncology Physics for UC-Davis. “We needed a software program that would solve the data storage and transfer problems we face in the radiation oncology realm while also providing a solid foundation for further refinement and development of image-guided radiation therapy (IGRT) workflow and quality assurance process software tools, and also set the stage for the development of a discovery database that will significantly enhance our cancer research programs.”
