Philips will be showcasing the EnVisor HD and HD11 XE systems, two new high-definition imaging ultrasound systems for the anesthesiology, at the American Society of Anesthesiologists’ (ASA) 2006 annual meeting, October 14-18 in Chicago, as it expands its line in regional anesthesiology.
As regional anesthesia becomes increasingly prevalent among anesthesiologists due to shortened recovery times, effective pain control and a low incidence of nausea, ultrasound guidance is becoming more widely used as a guide for the anesthesiologist to visualize the nerves, the surrounding vasculature and anatomy, the needle and the spread of local anesthetic. The new EnVisor HD and HD11 XE systems offer image quality and a compact footprint in ultrasound-guided nerve block procedures.
