Eclipsys Corp. today announced that University Hospitals (UH), Cleveland, OH, has contracted for Sunrise Clinical Manager and its fully integrated modules, including Sunrise Acute Care, Sunrise Ambulatory Care, Sunrise Emergency Care, Sunrise Critical Care, Sunrise Pharmacy and Knowledge-Based Charting. The use of Sunrise Clinical Manager will allow UH to connect its physicians, nurses, pharmacists, other clinicians and administrators, allowing patient information to flow seamlessly throughout the hospital.
"This contract with University Hospitals is among the largest software contracts in the company's history and is particularly gratifying as Eclipsys won this business over a number of our major competitors," said R. Andrew Eckert, Eclipsys president and chief executive officer. "We look forward to forging a close relationship with such a respected healthcare organization as University Hospitals. As we begin working together to implement Sunrise Clinical Manager, our common goal will be to deliver a system designed to help UH clinicians achieve positive patient-safety outcomes as well as improved quality of care."
