Premier Purchasing Partners, L.P., an alliance of hospitals that offers group purchasing and supply chain services, announced today that it renewed a five-year agreement with group affiliate Champs Management Services, which went into effect on July 1, 2006.
“As the largest GPO in the country, Premier achieves highly competitive pricing and brings our shared clients considerable value,” said Laura Gronowski, senior vice president of Champs. "While CHAMPS currently has a strong presence in Ohio and Michigan, our new agreement with Premier provides us the national reach that we know will enable us to bring this competitive purchasing portfolio to the customers who benefit most from our program."
Premier Region Vice President Phil Battershell indicated that the two groups “work together to find creative ways to aggregate volumes and leverage such to drive better pricing points.” He added, “For instance, Champs is very strong in the continuum of care market, an area where Premier also is placing more resources to drive more member value.”
