Kodak has recently announced enhancements to its film-based mammography CAD system and the multimodality CARESTREAM Mammography Workstation.
New for the CARESTREAM is the ability to view digital CAD markers that have been applied to digital mammography images and integration of breast MRI and ultrasound CAD software. The CAD markers can be turned on or off, and facilities can elect to save imaging studies with or without CAD markers. The breast MRI and ultrasound CAD software can provide a full mammography CAD solution from a single workstation when joined with digital mammography CAD.
Kodak’s film-based mammography CAD system has also been improved. Users now have the ability to save scanned mammograms as DICOM files, which can be useful for facilities anticipating transitioning to digital mammography because the cases digitized for CAD will be available for electronic viewing. There are also portrait and landscape modes to meet the radiologists preferences and the ability to save log files from the system and report the number of markers per film and case.
