Advanced visualization and artificial intelligence (AI) technology provider TeraRecon has successfully completed a U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulatory review of its Northstar AI Results Explorer. TeraRecon said the technology and the determination are both firsts-of-kind in the medical imaging industry. Northstar is designed to work alongside the company’s EnvoyAI interoperability platform, which includes FDA-cleared third-party content listed on its EnvoyAI Exchange marketplace.

EnvoyAI announced a new integration with Insignia Medical Systems’ InSight PACS (picture archiving and communication system) to provide artificial intelligence (AI)-enhanced imaging workflows to customers. For initial launch in the U.K., this integration provides curated AI content available on the EnvoyAI platform within the PACS environment at multiple integration points. These include AI results viewing directly within the PACS viewer, as well as within the already established Insignia integration with TeraRecon.

According to the company, these improvements accelerate workflow and enhance clinical capabilities for cardiac magnetic resonance (MR), spine labeling, multiphase breast and prostate MR, transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) and more. All enhancements are wrapped up in a measurably faster and visibly cleaner user interface.
