lifeIMAGE announced in mid-October the immediate availability of lifeIMAGE 5.0, the latest upgrade to its enterprise-grade electronic medical image sharing platform that connects thousands of hospitals across the country.

Enterprise imaging as a concept has been around for several years, but many organizations are just turning their full attention to it now, according to Jef Williams, managing partner at Paragon Consulting Partners. This is because other health information technology (IT) endeavors have taken precedence, including electronic medical records (EMRs) and Meaningful Use. Now, as enterprise imaging comes to the forefront, Williams and other speakers at the 2016 annual meeting of the Association for Medical Imaging Management (AHRA) discussed the importance of having an enterprise imaging strategy and how to implement it. 

Medical image exchange provider lifeIMAGE announced it has joined CommonWell Health Alliance, an industry consortium of health information technology-focused companies.

lifeIMAGE announced that it was found to be the market leader in image exchange in a recent report from KLAS Enterprises Inc. The report, “Enterprise Imaging 2015: Strategies, Options and Vendor Performance,” was compiled through in-depth surveys with nearly 100 hospitals and health systems; 78 percent ranged in size from 200-1,000-plus beds, and 62 percent used electronic medical records from either Epic Systems Corp. or Cerner Corp.

lifeIMAGE announced its participation in the 2015 Cerner Health Conference (CHC), Cerner’s annual healthcare event taking place in Kansas City, Missouri, Oct. 11 – 14.
