Shriners Hospitals for Children in Portland, Ore. announced the availability of the new EOS Imaging System, the first technology capable of providing full-body, 3-D images of patients in a natural standing or sitting position using low radiation doses.
The EOS imaging system has been installed at Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) in New York, N.Y., the top-ranked hospital in the United States for orthopedic care (according to U.S. News & World Report), where it will be used to obtain high-quality orthopedic scans with reduced radiation dose.
EOS imaging announced that its next-generation sterEOS 3-D imaging software, sterEOS 1.5, has received 510(k) clearance from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The sterEOS 1.5 software was highlighted along with the full EOS Imaging System at the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS) Annual Meeting, March 19-23 in Chicago, Ill. The technology is also featured in a paper submitted for the Hip Society Awards, which was presented on Saturday, March 23.

November 30, 2011 — EOS Imaging announced that installation of its flagship system has been completed at NYU Langone Medical Center, a world-class patient-centered integrated academic medical center.
November 9, 2011 – EOS Imaging announced that EOS installation has been completed at New York University Langone Medical Center, a world-class patient-centered integrated academic medical center. The clinical use of EOS is planned for early 2012. The full body, ultra-low dose 3-D orthopedic imaging system is already available in 10 North American medical centers to perform radiological examinations for the management and surgical planning of common orthopedic conditions such as scoliosis and joint disease.
