January 3, 2011 – Prime Radiology has selected Viztek to supply integrated radiology IT products and computed radiography (CR) hardware for a new imaging center in Edison, N.J. The multi-modality site, which will have five radiologists, will install Viztek’s Opal-RAD Web-based PACS, Opal-RIS Web-based RIS and billing software.

January 3, 2011 — Carestream Health announced worldwide price increases of up to 25 percent on all its medical imaging, dental and nondestructive testing films and related supplies, effective in mid-December 2010. The company said the price increases were necessary due to continuing significant increases in the cost of raw materials used in film manufacturing, particularly silver.

January 3, 2011 – The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has given 510(k) clearance for software used for planning spot scanning. The XiO treatment planning software, from Elekta, is used with proton therapy, which helps clinicians deliver a highly targeted dose to a tumor.

January 3, 2011 – Quest International Inc., a global IT solutions and supply chain services organization, has signed an authorized channel partner agreement with Carestream Health for their picture archiving and communications systems (PACS), radiology information systems (RIS), mammography systems and e-health managed services.

December 30, 2010 - ContextVision, a software imaging partner for many medical imaging manufacturers worldwide, has entered into a strategic collaboration with Neusoft Medical Systems Co. Ltd. (NMS), a provider of a broad range of medical equipment IT solutions and healthcare services in China.

December 29, 2010 – RadNet, a diagnostic imaging service provider, will acquire Imaging On Call for $5.5 million. An additional compensation of $2.5 million will be given if Imaging On Call achieves certain 2011 performance milestones. The acquisition will allow RadNet to enter the teleradiology business. It is expected to close on or around December 31, 2010.

December 23, 2010 ? Virtual Radiologic (vRad) and NightHawk Radiology announced the completion of their previously announced merger, with NightHawk continuing as a wholly owned subsidiary of vRad.
