June 4, 2012 – PACSgear, a provider of imaging connectivity for electronic health records, announced an agreement with SeeMyRadiology.com, a collaborative, cloud-based medical imaging solution, to participate in the Open Image Exchange, a cloud-based network designed to securely share medical images and results. PACSgear has incorporated the application programming interface (API) from SeeMyRadiology.com to upload images and reports to the company’s secure network. The Open Image Exchange will be demonstrated live at the upcoming SIIM Annual Meeting in Orlando, Fla.

The high brightness of 1,200 cd/m2 enables the 5 MP RadiForce GX530 monitor to offer a long usage time guarantee of 40,000 hours. With dual-link input support, monitors achieve a clock frequency of 50 Hz, even when displaying in high resolution. This enables smooth response when adjusting window level or width through the DICOM viewer application, compared to single-link connection. Additional features include the integrated front sensor for self-calibration and the integrated presence sensor for energy savings.

The Coronis Fusion family of medical imaging displays offers high-quality multi-modality imaging and features 30-inch color LCDs that can be used as one widescreen desktop or a seamless two-head display. Radiologists can organize their workspace in any configuration they desire, simultaneously viewing chest X-rays, multiple 2-D and 3-D computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance (MR), cath and echocardiogram images — or any other combination of high-quality grayscale, color-enhanced and fused images — side-by-side on a single, seamless screen. The displays can enhance the productivity of radiologists from a workflow perspective.

MIMcloud is a secure, Internet-based medical image service that provides an easily accessible resource for storing, sharing and viewing data. MIMcloud allows for data to be archived as long as needed. A variety of configurations simplifies sharing among groups and individuals, and only authorized users can decrypt data. Alternatively, data can be accessed remotely through MIMcloud by launching MIMviewer from any Web browser or downloaded onto Mobile MIM for the iPad and iPhone.

PACSGear has expanded its popular MediaWriter product line to include cloud-based sharing of images and results. With its Image Exchange, healthcare facilities have a choice: burn DICOM studies to CD/DVD media or securely upload them to a variety of cloud-based repositories. PACSGear Image Exchange also permits partner facilities to download images easily to enhance patient care and limit dosage by reducing retakes.

LiteView, a mobile application released with the latest Sectra picture archiving and communication system (PACS) in June, allows mobile access to images and information from an iPad. The immediate image access helps radiologists on call make fast and accurate decisions, improves collaboration with clinicians and brings images directly to patients for interactive discussions.

The latest release of the McKesson picture archiving and communication system (PACS) (V11.9) has features and purchasable options that address improved deployment flexibility, innovative radiology workflows and enterprisewide IT infrastructure strategies. McKesson Enterprise Image Repository, a solution independent from Horizon Medical Imaging and other PACS, archives and manages image data on behalf of the systems with which it interfaces. McKesson Enterprise Image Repository Retention Management can be purchased as an optional application that helps organizations maintain studies according to their retention policies, thereby reducing archive storage costs.

Vue Archive supports diverse data formats to help healthcare providers consolidate multiple “ologies” in a system-neutral repository. Vue Motion — a vendor-neutral, zero-footprint viewer cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for iPad review — delivers enterprise access to images and reports. Vue Connect intelligently indexes disparate radiology information systems (RIS)/PACS for seamless information exchange as an on-site system or a cloud service. These systems will be featured at SIIM.
