Guerbet announced that the Medical Imaging Drugs Advisory Committee to U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has voted unanimously by votes of 17 to zero to recommend that FDA approve the New Drug Application (NDA) for Dotarem (gadoterate meglumine) for adults, and for pediatric use for children two years of age and older. The committee voted 10 to six (with one member abstaining) not to recommend at this time approval of the indication for children under two years of age.

Bayer HealthCare announced that the New Drug Application (NDA) for its investigational oncology compound Radium Ra 223 Dichloride (radium-223) has been accepted for filing and granted priority review by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). The application is currently under review for the treatment of castration-resistant prostate cancer (CRPC) patients with bone metastases.

Konica Minolta Medical Imaging USA announced that it will collaborate with UMG / Del Medical, a leading provider of radiography products, to design a new DR system that will enhance the use of the Konica Minolta Aero DR flat panel technology when used in conjunction with a Del radiographic system. Once this project is completed, some Del Medical systems will allow seamless integration with the Konica Minolta Aero DR and provide cable-based communication for image transfer for both the X-ray table and upright Bucky systems. This configuration will also continuously charge the Aero DR panel, eliminating the need to remove the panel for charging.
