The categories were proton, volumetric modulated arc therapy (VMAT) and intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT). RayStation users reached five of the ten highest scores, with all submitted plans taken into consideration.

HeartFlow Inc. announced that the National Health Service (NHS) England has chosen the HeartFlow FFRct (fractional flow reserve computed tomography) Analysis as part of the Innovation and Technology Payment (ITP) program. The HeartFlow Analysis was chosen as a new technology to be funded by ITP through a competitive process of nearly 300 applicants. It is the only ITP recipient focused on coronary artery disease (CAD), which affects 2.3 million people in the U.K., according to the British Heart Foundation.

The interventional pulmonology team at the Taft Center for Clinical Research at El Camino Hospital in Mountain View, Calif., successfully performed an innovative robotic bronchoscopy procedure to view the inside of the lungs and obtain a tissue sample. This procedure, the first of its kind performed in the United States, took place as part of a clinical trial of Auris Health’s Monarch Platform. Auris recently announced U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) clearance of the platform.
