February 26, 2010 – During ACC 2010 Agfa HealthCare will showcase IT-enabled clinical workflow and diagnostic imaging solutions for cardiology at booth 1833.

The newly enhanced IMPAX Cardiovascular (CV) Suite supports clinicians with a single, integrated cardiovascular information system targeted at cardiac catheterization, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound, cardiac CT/CTA, nuclear cardiology, and ECG data. The multimodality suite comes together for the cardiologist in the easy-to-use Cardiovascular Review Station.

IMPAX CV Suite offer flexibility from features focused on workflow, integration and connectivity, including structured reports, multimodality cardiovascular image analysis, and vendor-neutral ECG management. The system delivers advanced, comprehensive suite of cardiovascular image and information management solutions that can easily be integrated into any organization's quality program.

Agfa HealthCare's cardiology solutions give clinicians the tools to support a confident diagnosis. With a sharp focus on cardiology's imaging, workflow, and reporting needs, IMPAX CV provides clinicians with secure, anytime, anywhere management of the cardiovascular patient's record and fast access to robust cardiology information. The single point-of-access solution allows for rapid clinical correlation of multimodality studies.

Functions of the Cardiovascular Suite include:

IMPAX Cardiovascular Review Station Remote: Offering clinicians virtualization of the Cardiovascular Review Station (CRS), IMPAX CRS Remote provides clinicians with the freedom to view the CRS wherever they require access. Powered by Citrix XenDesktop over the hospital intranet or World Wide Web, CRS Remote allows clinicians to perform offline measurements, conduct full-fidelity image reviews, access modality-specific toolkits, and interact with quantification programs via a single point of access. In the first phase of release, Agfa HealthCare's CRS Remote supports multimodality image review and reporting of cardiac catheterization, echocardiography, vascular ultrasound and nuclear cardiology. Also included in the echocardiography review is the Cardiovascular Measurement Tool, an offline measurement toolset.

IMPAX HeartStation ECG Management System: Offering automated ECG processing and storage, Agfa HealthCare's IMPAX HeartStation ECG Management System enables accelerated access to ECG exams, permitting clinicians to speed clinical decision-making and boost productivity. Clinicians can quickly and easily display, edit, confirm, print, and archive ECGs and make them part of the cardiology patient's Web-accessible record. IMPAX HeartStation's newly expanded capabilities now support 15-lead ECG and stress and Holter monitor store and view capability. Facilities will appreciate Agfa HealthCare's cost effective approach to leveraging existing cart investments while clinicians gain convenience from IMPAX HeartStation ECG Management System's anywhere-anytime access.

IMPAX Cardiovascular for Cardiac CT/CTA: Combined with TeraRecon's cardiac CT-3D visualization, the software offers comprehensive visualization, measurement and reporting. Agfa HealthCare has created a fully integrated imaging and reporting solution that supports the Cardiac CT/CTA guidelines established by the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography (SCCT). Clinicians can increase productivity while decreasing administrative time as they adhere to SCCT guidelines, perform consistent study interpretations, and enhance the delivery of patient care with one solution.

Agfa HealthCare's Adult Echo Image Review and Reporting: Agfa HealthCare's Adult Echo Image Review and Reporting and its companion solution, Agfa HealthCare's Pediatric Echo Image Review and Reporting, facilitates workflow and helps increase efficiency by providing fast access and distribution of echocardiography images and data. By emulating adult echo workflow with Agfa HealthCare's innovative, vendor-neutral offline measurement tool, the solution reduces analysis time on the cart, freeing the cart for use with other patients. The system offers a set of vendor-independent, offline measurement analysis within the Cardiovascular Review Station, and the ability to view updates on the Results Management (RM) measurement table as they directly populate the cardiovascular database. DICOM SR measurement importing is available for popular echo cart models from leading vendors, including Philips, Siemens, GE and Aloka.

IMPAX Vascular Ultrasound Review and Reporting: Designed for the vascular laboratory, IMPAX Vascular Ultrasound delivers both imaging and tightly integrated structured reporting for non-invasive exams. DICOM SR measurement import is available for carts from Philips and Siemens. This IMPAX reporting module fully incorporates the standards established by the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Vascular Laboratories (ICAVL). Compliance with standards can lead to increased reimbursements, supporting institution initiatives.

IMPAX Cardiac Catheterization Reporting: Focused on collecting clinical data during cardiac catheterizations, IMPAX Cardiac Catheterization Reporting transforms data into structured results. The outcomes: highly standardized physician and nurse reporting with optimized workflow.

IMPAX Nuclear Cardiology: Clinicians can look forward to enhanced nuclear cardiology reporting from Agfa HealthCare. Vendor-neutral and compatible with most conventional nuclear cameras and qualitative analysis software, IMPAX Nuclear Cardiology helps nuclear cardiology facilities generate reports that support requirements of the Intersocietal Commission for the Accreditation of Nuclear Medicine Laboratories (ICANL). The database incorporates elements required for this registry and accreditation, so as cardiologists create the structured reports that populate the database, essential data are included, resulting in a queriable database.

IMPAX Radiology Integration: Offering enterprise-wide cardiology image management and reporting, IMPAX Radiology Integration delivers a cardiology image management and supporting solution that connects with any modality or information system. Clinicians - cardiologists and radiologists - benefit from seamless, single sign-on access to all cardiology and diagnostic information. By reviewing radiology and cardiology images and reports together, clinicians can make fast evidence-based diagnoses.
